I just went and saw a movie about this with the dude from ER in it. It was pretty funny how they kept trying to screw each other. Money is material and if you value it more then the person you are with you prolly wont be with them long anyhow so ya might as well. Then at least you will have your money when it is all said and done

If a guy is so worried that we will get a divorce and worried THAT much about getting everything he came into the marriage with, then fuck it. He can keep all his shit and keep it by himself. Rich and I didn't sign one and it never came up. But not just Rich, but if I married ANY man and he asked me too, I'd just tell him, "If you are that worried about keeping your shit, then get your shit and get the fuck out. You aint gotta go home but you gotta get the fuck up outta here."
I think that's a cheesy way of sayng, not IF, but WHEN we get a divorce I want to be sure you don't try to take any of my things that I worked hard for and that I had before i even met you. When you get married your stuff is suppose to become his, and his stuff is suppose to become yours. It's about you and everything you both have becoming one with the other person. It's no longer "his stuff" or "her stuff" it's suppose to become, "OUR STUFF".
I've already said it a million times, if anything ever happens between Rich and I be it death, death by natual causes, divorce whatever I WILL NOT get married again. BUt if God himself comes down and sends a bolt of lightning into my ass and demands me to marry a man, I bet ya ass I STILL won't sign no damn prenup! FUCK THAT! The guy can take his shit and his prenup papers and hit the road!

My divorce and how it went down was the BIGGEST, worst mistake I ever made. I was extremely dumb that day. My ex hired a shifty, sneaky lawyer. Well let me tell ya how it started off.
He and I had discussed 2 weeks before we even signed the papers how we wanted our divorce to go, what we both wanted out of the divorce, and at the time when we were talking about it, we agreed to end our marriage as friends and on good terms. I thought for the first time, he was being sincere because I thought that he felt he owed it to me after all he had done to me and put me through. I could never ever trust him when we were married so it was my mistake thinking I could trust him then. He told me, "I know you have no money at all for a lawyer so why dont you let me get the lawyer and have the papers drawn up. I'll pay for all the fees, and all you have to do is sign them." He kept pushing the issue, "Hey, you have no money for a lawyer, let me pay for it all."
So, I agreed. The day comes where we have to go sign the paperwork and I go there with him to sign the papers. Keep in mind, I have never ever signed anything that had to do with legal stuff, legal words, or anything. I've never dealt with anything in the legal world. I don't know ANYTHING about legal papers, it all looks like German to me.
The lawyers secretary comes in with the papers and told me to read the papers and sign on each "x". So, I'm sitting there trying to read and understand all these big legal terms and I start to see that I really don't understand them. The whole time, my soon to be ex is in the same room with me. I tell him I do not understand what I'm signing. I ask his lawyer to come and explain everything to me. She says she can't do it because it would be a conflict of interest. She says she can't discuss ANYTHING with me. So, my ex looks at me and says, "it's all written out just like we talked about. It's everything we talked about, all you have to do is sign the papers." I told him I still didn't understand. SO, when he explained the paperwork to me, he made it seem like it was what we had discussed, and it was how we said we had wanted the divorce. He only told me what he wanted me to know. He manipulated me and the truth of the divorce papers. He explained it in a way where I thought everything would be as we discussed.
But oh nnnnnnnnooooooo. Then after I sign the papers, I asked well when do we go to court. He said being we are agreed to everything here and neither one of us are contesting it, my lawyer can just turn it into the judge and he will sign the papers to finalize our divorce, that way we don't even have to show up in court.
I was so stupid. In the papers, he got EVERYTHING but my car and my computer. Which I ended up selling my computer.
He got everything. That's also why the whole issue about the kids is going back to court. He and his lawyer made him the custodial parent and I am the noncustodial parent with nothing more than visitation rights. BUT, that IS going back to court and after all the lawyers and 2 judges I talked to, he IS in contempt. He has 4 counts of contempt against him. It's just a matter of getting him back in court so the judge can slap him with each count of contempt.
He knew exactly what he was doing with those damn divorce papers. He lawyer told him how to do it, and his mother who had worked in the legal field with lawyers for years, and even dated lawyers told him exactly how to play it out. He had his lawyer and his mother telling him how to do it all, and I had nobody.
But I am the dumbass for thinking just once I could trust that monster.
It is the dumbest mistake I ever made. SO take it from me, if you EVER have to sign ANY legal papers, read them completely first before you even start to sign. If you don't understand even one little thing, DON'T SIGN! Make sure, you DO know what the papers mean and what you are signing. Because I signed them not fully understanding them and it cost me everything, even my children. It's the most heartbreaking thing that ever ripped my heart to shreads. BUT, when my kids get older one day, old enough to understand I will tell them what happened and let them know I didn't just sign them over or sign them away. If I had known that's how it was going to be, I would have never signed anything.
